A Naval Problem and some reactikons

So in addition to the problems of a new pair of flat-tops, and no 'planes 'till 2021, we now get this (Linky). But there are suggestions about how the RN can do damage to enemy ships here (Linky) [I hope I got these the right way round].

    Even more F-35 problems

"The US Air Force says a strong tailwind is behind the runway fire that's grounded yet another of its F-35 fighter aircraft." linky Then there's this one [an improvement for the lighter pilot] linky I cannot help but wonder why the makers didn't see a lot of these problems coming.

Zenza Bronica ETR Si help please

Can any photog please help me with a Zenza Bronica ETR Si please ? I've just got one and I'm having trouble understanding it. The User Group on Yahoo seems not to want any new members. Note: If it were my old Praktika or even my old Yashica 220 or similar, I'd have no trouble. A PM would be...

    The posh chairs

RAFG, sometime between 66 and 69. RAF Gatow (??) was closing down, and I was one of those chosen to go help with the shifting. In SHQ was a conference room with a beautiful table, surrounded by chairs which featured the swastika on the dark blue back support. Anyone know what happened to them...

    More F-35 ills

"The F-35 warplane still needs reboots to get the aircraft airborne, a US Senate committee has heard, and troubling problems persist in the project's security." The whole idea of re-setting the thing, [whilst in flight?] is barking; or have I missed something ? Fuller details here LINKY...

    A ghost story?

Regardless of whether you believe in ghosts or not, I'm sure that we've all had events which lack a good explanation. I was talking the other week to a guy who'd been at Cottesmore n 1969. A phone rang in two locations, (one was Air Traffic) the receiver was pick up and a voice said "I've...

    More F-35 Problems.

Given that the modern aircraft has miles of software code, it's reasonable to expect a few problems at times. But with the Radar ? See HERE

    More on the F-35

Originally from the Jerusalem Post: Last year Israel ordered an additional 14 F-35s, and the IAF reportedly wishes to expand that order with an additional 17 aircraft. By all accounts, the F-35 is an impressive next generation fighter. But at the same time, as Aaron Lerner from IMRA news...

    Any photog experts please

I have, at last, risen to the dizzy heights of managing to own a Canon EOS40D camera. It's big and quite heavy, but works very well. There's a socket on the side for a flash thingy, called the 'PC terminal'. What are the limitations for this thing? I've read of contacts being burned out due to...

This was on facebook, done by a lady Veteran

I was at Asda yesterday, this thick fcukin chav bitch was on the check-out, face like a slapped arse and all the charisma of a jellied eel. I came to pay, I had only bought milk and bread but had no change. "£1.03 please" "Sorry this is all I've got," as I handed her a £20 note. "Haven't...

    Enola Gay

Having been pointed to this site [Linky] about te Me 262, I had a peruse and found some pictures of the now-presentable B-29, Enola Gay. The various pictures were interesting (no real detail, mind) but one thing caught my eye. In some pictures, the mark on the tail is a huge R in a circle...
