So let's be honest, the only way that that anyone will realise that the new pay system is a shambles is if lots of people jump ship over the next few days/weeks. Who actually knows someone that has pulled the plug because of this?

4 SAC's off my shift pulled the handle before Dec 1st, 2 more did a few days ago. I'm posted next month and a lad left last month after being picked up off the last board.

All that's left are the fresh guys out of cosford on my desk, bye bye experience.

On my Sqn's AV desk within the last few months.(that I can think of off the top of my head)

1 recently promoted Sgt (Typhoon Oracle)
2 experienced Cpl's
7 SACs all off whom were good guys with the exception of one, admin burden waste of space. Who is currently increasing his admin burden status and destroying morale within the other SACs, due to the RAF insisting he stays on the Sqn to see out his RoS. (despiste him having no auths)

I think I know who you mean. Has he had 3 shots at the AV Typhoon course by any chance each time demonstrating a very sh1tty attitude?

The dust has had over a week to settle since 'that' announcement...

Anyone heard of definite button pressing? Have the Armourers taken these extra few days for it to dawn on them that what has happened is a bad thing?

I've not heard of any AEOp's/WSOp's (some still refer to themselves as the former) spitting their dummies but they could be cooking up some sort of challenge to the banding...they've done it successfully twice before.

I know of 2 definetes who have pvrd.

And a significant amount of others who are now preparing themselves to do so.

Biggest reason is not the pay scales, it's the 6 month DWR with no RnR.

No doubt, the majority are pension trapped and won't be going anywhere till they've secured it.

Im a Sgt, and I plan on banging out at 20 years. So 3.5 left. No way I'll take CT if it came.

My colleagues are all voicing the same. Bearing in mind that the PSB have been getting well down the list due to people turning down promotion, it's going to get ALOT worse.

Also, I manage 17 JNCOs and over 75% of them told me they didn't care about their SJAR because they have no plans on staying in!!
They are not interested in secondary duties, taking the lead, charity work or even bothering to update their personal objectives or aspirations. (I did all I could to convince them to input something).

most are great guys and girls who simply do not feel valued anymore and are sick of being mistreated by the RAF.

Pay rises and salary seems to be the main issues with these guys.
They are being offered higher wages outside.

3.5 years to push until pension that's the only reason I have not pushed the button. I have earned that bad boy and plan to let it pay off my house! We are just numbers in the payroll system to the modern RAF nothing more and nothing less.

Oh and they can stick promotion up their arse 😉

I think 'our' plans will reflect a large number of people in at the moment.

i really resent what has happened to our Pension(25% overnight hit going from 05 to 15), Pay(huge losses over last 5 years, if you take into account inflation with our zero/1% rises), certain allowances being cut and now the NEM debacle.

not to mention 6 month DWR and the silent one that no one takes about...the new redundancy rules bought in last year.
Get made redundant 1 day short of your pension date, and all you'll get is around 10k...no more huge 80-90k payouts.
Most don't even realise this.

I've heard rumour that a certain base in RAF Lincolnshire has had around 50 PVRs since Xmas, 20 of which were in the last week! Hardly surprising though really - I'd smash the button today too, if I could afford to leave!

Nice to see our NI contributions are going to be shooting up now, too - why have redundancy tranches when you can just let people leave?

Maybe there's plans to retrain those who are left, so we can fill 6 different posts in 6 different trade groups..?

There is a vast majority already doing HR and MT functions as a matter of daily routine outside of their trade boundaries so why do we have to have "specialist" trades for those?

Cor blimey, they'll expect you to make your own lunches and wash your own clothes next.

There's a bit of a difference between self service of admin and transactional tasks and more specialised trade tasks, however, if you want to reduce the workload of your own trade, with a commensurate reduction in your manning, them I'm sure these other trades will welcome the increase in their's.

(That previous comment was tongue in cheek. Maybe should have put a wink at the end...)

I'd love to narrow the scope of my trade ;) as I'm play group 4. Too diverse and not specialist enough.
