Is this a picture of one of the biggest threats to UK security?

The SNP is prepared to paralyse Britain's armed forces and shut down government departments if Ed Miliband is Prime Minister, the party's deputy leader has suggested as Labour admitted for the first time that it is willing to do a deal with the nationalists.
Stewart Hosie said the SNP will look to block defence spending if Mr Miliband refuses to scrap Trident, raising concerns his party will force a US-style government shutdown.

If Britains armed forces can be paralysed by govt depts being shut down, then the damage has occurred long before she gets her hand on the wheel.

Seeing as both Labour & Conservative would vote for Trident, then wee Jock McPlop's 40 MPs would be in a minority of several hundred when it came to the vote in the Commons.

I think the 5% of the population she represents may get more power than they deserve.

She'd be cutting off her nose to spite her face getting rid of Trident. It was estamated closing Faslane would cost around 30000 in the area, directly and indirectly.
the arguement during the referendum was SNP would turn Faslne into the Scottish Naval HQ. what would she do as a smaller part of the UK!!!

The SNP are out to cause trouble till the rest of the UK tell them to poke off.

You have forgot to mention....

1) How many cuts were made in the past 5 years.
2) The tory plans to double the cuts next year.

cuts caused by Labour incompetence. A necessary evil for years to come I'm afraid. Just hope they cut the right areas. Anyway, that's for another thread

For many years people underestimated the fishy twins (Salmond and Sturgeon).

She is very skilled at politics, superb at debates, and driven by real conviction for her cause. sadly, that cause is to break up the UK - and to grab what she can for Scotland on the way out.. (she will happily cause anti Scots sentiment in UK, the SNP thrive on pointing out the English hate Scotland to drum up support)

She deserves enough respect to fight the SNP properly - as long as they are treated dismissively they will grow, and the power mad witch will get stronger and more influential...

If only she believed in the Union, she could be a real force for the good of all Uk, rather than the co-architect of its downfall

The wee wicked witch comes across as the stereotypical English hating Scot. The minority type who happily refer to the English as FEB's. She seems to be chuffed to bits at finally sticking it to those English bastaa's who she despises so much. A vindictive little sharp tongued harridan with no ambition beyond causing mischief and pushing her one policy party in her chosen direction.

And let's not forget that more than 50% of her nation don't want her policies and their plan for independance if it had happened would have them cap in hand to the IMF already due to North Sea Oil dropping in price and their sums being trumped up...

More than 50% of the UK will not want the policies of whoever gets into power in May. Worth remembering that the UK a few years ago voted to retain the system that now gives the nats an opportunity to influence things and recently campaigned for Scotland to remain a valued part of the Union.

And let's not forget that just about every single constituency in Scotland is smaller in terms of electors than the UK mean average (and the same is also true of Wales) so that means she potentially gets more MPs than she should for the number of votes cast. Truly a government under her thrall will be a government by minority interests....

That is true - the average constituency size is smaller in Wales and NI.

But remember that you have already had 5 years of a minority party influencing gubernment - Vince's nuclear weapon anyone?

But at least that 'minority' party stood candidates right across the countries and has a UK focussed agenda (whether you like it or not) and isn't a single country, single issue party whose leader isn't even standing in this election....

But you knew that wasn't true, didn't you? I concede this is a wiki link, but "The Liberal Democrats do not presently contest elections in Northern Ireland"

So the 'minority' party that played a major part in government over the last five years didn't directly get a vote from every quarter of the UK. But that was OK in your view...

Face it, the electoral system that the majority want to maintain will sometimes deliver unpalatable results. People in the part of the UK we call NI found that their government was partly made up of Lib Dems, despite not having the chance to vote for them. Looking forward, people in the part of the UK we call England may find that the SNP influence their government, despite them not having the chance to vote for them. Goose, sauce, gander, etc.
