I don't know what the problem is with the traditional 'Erk'.

And I bet the supporting bullshit , sorry documentation, includes terms such as relevant, inclusive and diverse? But not the costs of reworking documents and policies to accommodate the new terms?

Apparently "Commissioned Officer" is going to, "Commissioned Air Specialist"

How will they be addressed ?

Can't use Sir or Ma'am because they are not gender neutral, nor is Rodney.

I nominate Zobbit for formal occasions and Zob for informal occasions.

I demobbed late 2020 after 22yrs and wonder if the scale or scope of differences are similar to someone who left in 1998 after a similar amount of time in?

The constant pandering to Stonewall in hijacking decades of tradition that seems to be a cacophony of constant bullshit addressing issues that aren't there for most. Can the same be said by those of the air force generation prior to mine?

The RAF / MOD have already decided that the collective name for members of the RAF is 'Aviator' so why add another level of crap ?

Just think of all the computer systems that will need programing to take the changes into account.

Why not keep it simple and use 'Leading Aviator', 'Senior Aviator' & 'Senior Aviator Technician' ?

And for the life of me I cannot see anyone that wants to join the RAF being put off by traditional ranks that are predominately referred to by their initials.

In fact there is nothing wrong with Leading Aircraft Person etc.

addressing issues that aren't there for most.
Agreed most folk couldn't care less, and the silent majority do indeed stay quiet. The system is terrified of being accused of upsetting absolutley any group at all. The squeakest wheel gets the oil.

Totally agree that us , the silent majority just don't really care. Another waste of the taxpayers funds.
Vociferous minorities have too much clout these days.

It has got to the point where the Airships are losing the fǘcking plot, how about spending these tens of millions of pounds changing titles and ranks on sorting out barrack blocks and amenities instead.

IMHO it looks like they are more interested keeping the woke brigade happy; rather than those people that actually do the work that keeps the RAF operating as a fighting force.

When did the Royal Air Force change from Defending the Country into reflecting the Country ?
