Few years back in sunny kinloss, a shiney SAC-T (Q-OPs) turned up in the bay, ah he had some stories:

1. Designed a 7 blade prop for Westland, who then paid him a huge amount of cash (Bullsh*t)

2. Had a lovely audi which he had debaged as it was the A3? version and did not want it stolen, pity the lad's pointed out he was missing a dif from it :) (Bullsh*t)

3. He was also the owner of a fantastic superbike, however was always in the garage down south (Bullsh*t)

4. And to finish off, this lovely little tinker had a few properties down south, which he was renting and making a mint (Bullsh*t)

Most of these stories came out just after someone else had made a comment in the tea bar.

God l don't miss the ape like sh*te at all, as also possibly the most dangerous of "techies" l have had the misfortune to meat.

SWG.

Initials RG perchance, and he had a few more than that but i haven't got a spare day to type up half i heard of.

We have a belter up here so far he has:

Won the lottery
Got his twin engined PPL (but can't be a pilot in the RAF as he is colour blind)
Been aircrew on BBMF (to his girlfriend)
Has a full car licence!!!
Passed his Fitness test in MPC (then went sick a month later when he was due to take it again)

We all know him and no one wants him!

Similar to previous replies. An SAC(T) that had been paid his 7 1/2 year bonus weekly since 2006. And that JPA would have to be reset across the Airforce! What A *****

There was once a photog called Fitzy. Among his many stories, two stand out.
1. He was a Noth Sea diver before he joined the RAF.
2. He dived in and saved someone in the pool at Cosford whilst he was having swimming lessons as he was also a non swimmer.
Not forgetting:
Fully qualified domestic fireman
SF
SF TA (while still in)
Selious Scout in Rhodesia (worked out he was 9 when he did that)
9 years in the Marines before joining RAF
Various trips to the Balkans to fight for everyone, just to be fair
Offer of a commission in Bosnian Army.

And his "Special Comms Helmet" with the earpiece cut out. (Just like everyone elses).

Thing is he had a heart of gold, worked his parts off and was always good for morale. Mad as a fish, obviously, but still good value.

All pails into insignificance when I remember the bloke in the CIO telling me what great promotion prospects the trade had, mind.

I rember him - he was the one who stood outside his room at Brampton in civvies when the rest of us were having a No 1 kit inspection and told the inspecting officer his dress standards "was in protest at the b**locksy inspection"....

Worked with an MTD once who told me that his whole family were pilots in the RAF, he failed the selection phase for pilot and was given the next best trade in the whole of the airforce, MT Driver. Throbber.

Has he explained the reason as to why he's still being paid it yet?

Something to do with all the data on JPA being deleted and having to start it all again...:pDT_Xtremez_30:

Yeah, think he mentioned that to one of the lads, apparantly it's happened to a few people, including an SAC who's been getting paid a Cpl's Pension for the last god knows how long too.. Nice one!!:pDT_Xtremez_30:

Almost right. As Cpl I/C the block, I can confirm he was lying on his bed when the OIC entered his room.
Laugh, I almost bought a round.

Thats right - although he did go face to face with the OIC afterwards in the corridor - I was in the room next to him in good old Groom Block, and I remember the sound of collective sphincter-tightning by all of us in our No 1s when the OIC invited him, in a voice that made the air temperature drop by about 20 degrees, to discuss his policy in his office the following morning.....
