Amazing footage taken from the Solid Rocket Booster of the now retired Space Shuttle. I wasn't expecting so much wind noise at 125k feet! Shame the altitude stays with the orbiter and not the SRB.

Saw that this morning on another forum, its a cracking video!

A bit spooky when its at it's highest and all is silent apart from the creaking metal, you can really tell they are just empty tubes at that point, then the slowly increasing noise of the air rushing past as they re-enter.

Great watch!

Great bit of film, the shock wave as it passes through the sound barrier is pretty impressive.
