From the outset can I just make it clear that this may be a complete rumour.

Today I was at RAF Northolt where I heard that QR1001, otherwise known as the right of redress, has been withdrawn.

Ordinarily I would put this down to rumour and laugh at all the times I have told people that the word gullible has been withdrawn from the dictionary.

However I heard the same story in the Mess at ISK last week from two admin guys, and the week before I was at RNAS Culdrose and I heard the same from an RN CPO(AH).

To top it off I have also heard the same thing being discussed down at St Athan, in the last three weeks as well.

So is there any truth in this?

I've heard the same from several sources, apparently it will be replaced with something new, not sure what exactly. Red and yellow cards for SNCOs? :0

If you actually read the JPA Operational Bulletins now and again you would have all the gen you need instead of relying on rumours - this was announced weeks ago. Keep yourself up to date fella, it's in your own best interests at the the end of the day.

I redressed OC PSF at Waddo back about 2001......basically she was a govenor/on the committee of the local primary school. My son went to said school and while i was in the gulf he was getting bullied but they seemed to be doing nothing about it and my wife was getting nowhere. So using the school website i found an email address and made some comments about the running of the school etc.

Upon my return i was called in for a one way chat with said OC PSF who said that the school headmaster was threatening to take legal action against me for things i said about him on a public website (nothing was ever said on a public website). I left the office and redressed that day.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the RAF but because she was on the board they tried to use her to have a go at me.

Eventually the headmaster resigned and i got an apology from OC PSF....in writing......oh happy days

Crack on.....................:pDT_Xtremez_09:

QR 1000 procedure has been replaced by the Service Complaints Procedure - in essence for those lower down the food chain just the same as for QR1000, however, when it leaves the station it gets reviewed by an independant complaints commissioner (external to the chain of command) - overall a much fairer and easier to use system.

Spk to your P1 or PSF about it

To amplify above, speak to P1, not PSF or a random scribbly in the bar/mess/rugby club etc.

Redress, complaints and disciplinary stuff like that is a very specific matter, and the only people who are really qualified to give accurate and up to date advice is the P1 SNCO/JNCO. They go on a course and are then kept up to date with current procedures whilst in that post.

Ehmm - not quite the overall procedure is handled by OC P1 or OC PSF (if no OC P1), who also do the same in depth course. Of course the natural default could of course be the OC PMS as well.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge on that if. However I have never heard of an officer spending 3 or 4 weeks at Southwick Park on a specialist P1 course like the NCOs do - it is possible they spend 3 or 4 weeks in their initial training covering it as in-depth as the NCOs do.

And so you should bow - the Officer within P1 or PSF will be the expert in Redress of Complaints - not the Cpl or Sgt. Indeed, the OC PMS will be the one who advises the Staish on all P1 matters - so who better to chat to :pDT_Xtremez_28:
