Plumber,

you've been trying to ride my ass since I joined this site. I'm beginning to think you don't like me, since I said those nasty things about you wanting to be an Officer and not being up to it.

I promise I only meant some of it!

And I will continue to because I only meant all of it. :p

Seriously though I haven't taken anything to heart and nor should you, remember we're just giving our opinions. The fact that I'm right and your not doesn't matter.

Anyway merry xmas and happy new year. :D :p

Just remember that we've still got our own Forum, which means we can't be that far wrong.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year fella!

And I still drink in the O Mess on occasions (whilst working for Norwich Union of course), so watch out.

I'm glad that you two have kissed and made up. It upsets me to see such ill will being expressed, especially at this time of year.

I've just read the entire thread from start to finish (I'm so busy). I have to say that I think MFM made a reasonable request, the same as anybody else can, in a self-deprecating , light-hearted manner and initially it was taken as such by all. It seems to me that the catalyst for the abuse being thrown around was Stax. Stax, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Please remember that this is not an excuse to abuse someone with a different point of view, but a chance to understand. What do you think Stax? Should I cover my eyes in preparation for the abuse and numerous *'s that you are inevitably about to send my way?

Stax, Merry Christmas and spread the love!

The aim of the Officers' Forum is not to divide the website or prevent everyone from joining in on a discussion. It simply exists as a 'catch-all' for topics that don't necessarily fit into the trade-specific Forums.

I hope that is perfectly clear for the Int Os who have objected to the Officers' Forum - unsuprising that they did, since the unreadable pap they have decked their forum out with betrays both their low mental ages and inability to form coherent arguments. Tools!

Well that stirred up a hornets nest!!

Firstly, whilst the aim of the Officer's Forum may not have been to divide the website, it's quite clear 'M' that it has, to some degree, actually suceeded in dividing opinion, particularly on it's relevance to the overall aims of this excellent internet endeavour. Additionally, if the concept of the Officers Forum was simply to 'catch-all' those topics falling outside the threads within the trade forums, then might I suggest those who wished to discuss such dull and pointless Officer related topics actually utilised the 'General Chit Chat' Forum; strangely enough it tends to do what it suggests on the tin!!!!

As for being clear to Int O's, it is painfully obvious old chum, no additional collection needed on that one!!!

However, for someone who was clearly slapped as a child, might I suggest you actually read a little deeper into the threads on the Spooks Forum. If you had, any little understanding you may have relating to our specialisation would make you realise that all we have done is play to the common perception of Int Os from the majority of service and go geek, smoke and mirrors, incoherant assessment and general behind closed doors, individualistic humour!!! We don't ask you to understand it, we don't generally want you to contribute to it, it is a medium for banter within the specialisation; strangely that's why it's called a Spooks Forum.

Sadly, I get the impression that you are a member of our 2 winged master race and as such must be feeling rather lonely from the general 'go, no-go' within your own forum; maybe that's why you wanted an Officer's Forum so that you'd stop feeling so pitifully worthless.

As I'm sure you will stand by your original request, I stand by my informed assessment on the relevance of an Officers Forum on this site. It is devisive, not required as other Forum pages are available to captute IOT, ISSC, JOCC, ICSC blah blah blah threads.

If the Juniors and Seniors posting to this website can get it right and utilise the already established forums then I'm pretty sure a member of our service elite could have!!

Merry Christmas fella ;)

Cat of Shadows,

I do hope that you're not an Int O as you seem to have missed MFM stating that he is most definately not aircrew in an earlier post.

Aaah, if not, then clearly an aircrew wannabe.

I was temporarily blinded by the data deluge supplied by 'M'..................... also known as white noise in the trade.

Genius!!!, Rev banter, always a safe bet.
Reminds me of a guy I used to work with once, he was a real Swiss Tony, also wanted to be an Int O.

What a relief, I’m not the only one to be baffled by the completely impenetrable combination of words used by the Int types on this board! Being enigmatic is fine, incomprehensible drivel merely confuses.

Nothing at all wrong with an officers section… IMO.

Okay, okay, I'm sorry, I was wrong....

Okay, okay, I'm sorry, I was wrong....

Despite my earlier claims that a specific Officers Forum is not required (since we have more than enough scope to discuss issues in the existing forums and the ability to start a thread on ISS, JOCC or any other Officer Specific theme), I now feel that an Officers Forum is definately required. Its the kind of high calibre, intelligent discussion of earlier posts that is best kept seperate from the ORs using the site. It's the same reason that we have Officers Messes - if we're going to make complete tw@ts of ourselves, best to do it behind closed doors, eh? ;)

Thickmick.........

Hello chaps and chapesses.

Sorry if I haven't been posting lately, as you all know I have an opinion about everything. I've had a few days off, no 'tinternet, no phones, no contact with her Brittanic Majesty's Royal Air Force at all! Thoroughly enjoyed it, got all my Christmas shopping done, dec's up, pre holiday clear out and now I am back a refreshed little Stax! Will have a little look at what I have missed and comment in my own inimitable way. Plumber and MFM play nice or you will get spanked and sent to bed without supper (hopefully by Opz or Shoutingwind!)
