For those still serving / have access to DII ... have you done the New Joiner Offer survey (from the Defence Intranet homepage)?

Without saying too much and beadwindowing myself - the questions are ... interesting.

For anyone with no clue what the New Joiner Offer is, read on;

The New Joiner Offer Project is seeking to develop a new offer for those who join the armed forces from 2020. It aims to improve recruitment and retention whilst reducing costs in the overall reward package through more efficient delivery of reward.

Is it just me - or is there nothing on those pages that actually says what the new offer is???? Tells you what it's part of, and about other parts of the overall project, but no details about the offer itself...?

It's still very much in the early stages. The survey gives more of an idea of what they're looking at.

There's a couple of threads over on aarse, if you dare risk the trip!

One on the ideas seems to be up the basic rate of pay to attract people in, then offset it by only giving you the X Factor if you're doing 'dangerous' stuff. Or sack off the pension payments from you EDP to SPA and just give you a (lesser) lump sum.

All just ideas at this stage though, by the looks of it.

Also heard the term "Defence Enterprise Approach" for the first time today, which is a much more interesting idea.

Join up, decide to leave for whatever reason, the Government will have a crack at keeping you within the Defence sector, if they can't convince you stay within the Armed Forces.
