Not sure if you are out there yet or were even my replacement. Haha if you are unlucky. 34sqn seem to be a bunch of............. Try and get out of the kamp as much as possible or you will be bored sensless. I was out doing escorts and out in the coppers quite a bit. Great fun mate. Enjoy

Wow guys!!!! a lot of responses even if some of them did go off on a tangent. I am off to Honington tomorrow for my 10 day package, then have about 2 weeks to fly out. I will document my movments whilst out in Afghan and will make a thread with info and maybe some pictures etc of my time over there. Just incase there are any more people who don't have a clue about what there doing.

JCP,

I have been the OIC of the Det you are going to and I can assure you it is not the bad. You wil understand the nature of the job when you get there, but there will be no 50 cal firing for you. The best pre-deployment trg you could do is get yourself on guard! Ladies and Gents please be aware of OPSEC when discussing OOA and there is no place for war photos on this site. Sorry to be a bit adult about this, but this isn't a game and I amsure we have all seen enough lives lost already.

Methinks he may already be back from theatre. When you consider the thread was started in May.

Good point well presented WB. I only read the last bit about taking photos etc and thought OPSEC was a good point to raise for others venturing to sandy (although cooler now in temerature) places.
