Here's a direct quote from a letter I recieved today. It originates from the chair of the national occupational standards steering group.

'Many senior managers in the FRS have expressed concern that skills and knowledge are declining, possibly as a result of the cessation of statutory examinations'.

They seem perplexed by this, but it was of their making, they wanted this.
Yet again they have failed to listen to the people who know and run the service. I'm afraid it's the usual interference and political dogma.
