IIRC, Rape requires the insertion of the penis, whereas it may not always be possible for the victim (or more likely the prosecution) to say what was inserted.
What I find depressing about this is the number of people who should have known better (SNCOs & WOs etc) and the prevalence of sexual offences. There's also a number of spelling mistakes (RAF Holton, for one) as well as a possible breach of the Data Protection Act.

Finger, bottle, cucumber, banana, mechanically powered device. In fact anything except a penis.

A lad I worked with went down for this very charge.

just 1 x theft? Probably more than just nicking a Mars bar from the tea swindle drawer, to get all that lot as a sentence.

I'm fairly sure the 'barring or working with' aspect involves supporting, teaching or formulating care plans with them (the child / adult) as a student, patient or similar. So anything Social Services, teaching or being left on their own with vulnerable individuals is now a massive no no.

Apart from the usual JR's and SNCO's being done for AWOL, Unfit for Duty, Fraud, Theft, etc it was nice to see that there are some commissioned ranks in the list of shame. Its just a pity that the so-called officers didn't get the full weight of QR's dropped on them. So much for equality.

No, it's not a breach as all Court listings (including Courts Martial) are open source information. They are listed on the entrance to every court. CM listings of upcoming cases are on the MoD website and include rank, name and service number. It's exactly the same as a newspaper listing all Court cases with name and first line of address published (they don't add house number!!)

Pre-trial, the details of who is being tried must be published in the interests of fair & open justice, however after the trial the individual is entitled to privacy so the MoJ doesn't publish the outcomes (although that doesn't stop any attendee or the media from reporting them). I tried to find out why someone i knew had been handed a Conditional Discharge a couple of years back (he wouldn't say although there legal reasons for knowing and implications for his role with a charity) and you cannot find them anywhere - his case was so minor even the local papers didn't carry it.

Totally agree, he was given several opportunities to reveal, confidentially if necessary, but in the end he was invited to stand down and left the organisation. Shame because he was a nice guy and a conditional discharge suggests that whatever it was it was minor enough for no-one to much care once the legalities had been resolved.
