On the 4th of February, 1986, a young, fresh faced 17 year old stepped off the bus and walked up the snowy path to start his recruit training at RAF Swinderby. It seems like a lifetime ago.

i joined on the same date (4/2/1986) but left 5 years ago. Feels like it happened in another life to me. I could never imagine having to go through all that again.

What colours were those DPM boots?

I used to have black DMS boots.

One of our lads looked like he had DPM No1's after he pressed his best blue with a yellow duster.
