I sat and watched the debate (on guard commander and only have a few channels) and some of the tripe the government were spouting was feeble! Apparently if a few Gurkhas come to live here the entire ecconomy of Nepal will collapse....... what a crock of cr4p. Hopefully they'll come up with something more realistic now but i'm not holding my breath. It took them month to come up with the past piece of bog roll they produced last week.

Good.

"We have got to balance our responsibilities to those who have served our country with the finance that we need to be able to meet these obligations - and not base our offer on money we cannot afford."

You could save a bit of cash by not giving it away to bankers and jobless breeding machines.

It was amusing hearing joanna lumley shouting 'ayo ghurkali' on the radio yesterday.

Wonder if she was waving a khukri in the air...

Thank christ that common sense has finally won out and these most deserving of people get justice. This Government, especially the to$$er at No 10, has absolutely no credability any more and this whole debacle just shows how out of touch they really are with the man on the street.

"We have got to balance our responsibilities to those who have served our country with the finance that we need to be able to meet these obligations - and not base our offer on money we cannot afford."

And admitting tens of thousands of refugees and economic migrants many of whom, unlike the Ghurkas with their strong sense of pride and work ethic, claim benefits IS something we can afford?

Clearly this government does not know the meaning of the word 'irony'.

Yes, she was! It was great to see the Gurkhas. I just hope the government get on with the job and do it properly this time.

Is it legal to carry a Khukri (Not that I'm complaining of course, I think it's a right result!!)?

:pDT_Xtremez_30:

I wondered that too when I saw it and hoped that no over zealous plods were around to spoil the moment, though perhaps the plods also supported the Gurkhas.

Great news! They are the nicest people you could ever meet as well as giving their lives for our country. Shame we can't get rid of the scum who do nothing for this country and replace them with Gurkas!

I followed the link on the thread earlier this week and emailed my MP I returned home last night to a letter thanking me for my email and advising he was one who had supported the cause.

As many others I would rather have the Gurkhas here and evict some from this country to say the stan.

About Bloody time and to the government it just keeps getting worse.

I was fortunate enough to be at Parliment on Wednesday (with 119 other RAF Ranks) when this vote was going through its motions and David Cameron came to see the troops and nod to us all and clap to all serving personel there. Not a Labour person of any specific high role was there to do the same. I think we are seeing a huge shift in who seems to appreciate serving members (Ok im not holding my breath on that) but it would seem the Conservative leader is at least backing all the right things and I like the guy for that. Many of the lads from Brize also mention he is a good lad for them.

I know where my vote will go next year.

Way to go Ghurkas _o/

Cameron is a vote whore and will do anything to jump onto any bandwagon passing if he thinks there's even a sniff of a vote in it. If he does get into power next year - it'll all change, mark my words.

I hope it get resolved soon....becuase next year, it'll all start to get worse when they make major cuts into public sector spending.

Well Fomz Im under no illusion things wont change much but I dont think it can get any worse at the moment tbh . Right now It would be just nice to have somebody in control of the country than this shower of ****.

Labour have screwed the future for us all and no matter who gets into power will have a very difficult job now.

If you give them £100 pounds each and send them to a car boot fair one weekend to buy, then the following weeked to sell.

Pound to a pinch of sh1t liabour would be skint and owing!
