No need to worry people!

Once Gordo gets the National ID card embedded into everyday life,
data loss won't matter because the ID card will protect everyone from data loss etc etc.

You would think that after the first couple of 'incidents' that a root and branch look at IT security would have happened. It's about time that some heads rolled, this must be manna for potential terrorists.:pDT_Xtremez_25:

Missing data

Missing data

Sky news were saying that it was a root and branch check (following last weeks loss of Data) that revealed the fact they were missing!:pDT_Xtremez_42:

It makes you wonder how long they have been missing for.

It's the not knowing that's the issue.

If it's just been stolen by some little chav so he can store more porn on his computer and he's wiped all the info off it without looking at it then it's no big deal.

However, if someone has had the idea that he can sell all this info to the nigerians (or even worse terrorists/Russians etc).... then we may be in the shtick:pDT_Xtremez_09:

But it's not this eejit government that's lost them it's their eejit contractors EDS that have fouled up once again. We need names of the company employees who lost them and photocopies of the P45's they got as they where sacked with all haste.

But using contractors is more cost effective! Lordy Lordy dont you know anything!

Seriously, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys, can we honestly put a price on security?

I would settle for compensation paid by EDS to all the affected personnel. £1000 each should be enough to persuade them to be more careful in future.

I really do hope that the people who have the information / hard disk aren't the same ones that nicked 11,000 blank ID cards earlier in the year! That would be ..........bad!::/:

Is there anyone left in this country who hasn't been affected by at least one of the losses of data, or potentially affected.

Lets see from memory there have been, 2 laptops lost, computer systems stolen, disks containing practically everyone in receipt of child benefit, several losses of recruits and serving/ex serving forces personnel data, jail staff, ID cards, and I've probably forgotten some for that list too.

Not good at all and very much well beyond a freaking joke, how much more incompetence can there be from this government and it's hangers on.

So how we supposed to find out if our data's been " Lost" or not?

I know there's a number floating around somewhere but last time they l"ost" some data one of my mates rang and got told he was ok and his data was fine... 3 months later he got a phonecall telling him they had made a mistake and his data had been lost!!!

They'll charge someone under the Official Secrets Act for revealing the number of bikkies consumed in Kremlin-on-Thames, but will these ****s get busted for loosing all this data?.
Frankly, I doubt it! Pity, innit?
