RIP matey.

This may not be the time or place, but we are reading more and more reports of Army recruits having accidents or training incidents. Yet i barely hear one about RAF training?

Thoughts with the family..

Seems a bit old at 29? Very sad all the same.
Don't suppose it could be that they found out he was in fact an undercover reporter?

Tragic news but surely in such an intensive training environment, surrounded and scrutinised by experienced professionals, someone must have noticed something odd about his behaviour?

RIP kiddo.

Not neccessarily, A good friend and colleague of mine at ISK hung himself, we were all out drinking that night and having a laugh, carried on with a corridor party and he was still laughing and joking when he got up to go to the toilet, 5 minutes later he was found hanging in the stairwell.

RIP fella,
shame things got too much for you that you felt this desperate.

Hardly an epidemic today is it? - if you are going to make sweeping generalisations at least tell us something new

It's a very sad thing when anyone takes their own life and as this is a military orientated site, when a serviceman or a servicewoman takes their life, it feels just a little more personal.
I agree with your sentiments and thoughts for the families, but, by dragging up news articles from over 5 years ago (two of your examples) to justify your post of "We are starting to hear more and more of these incidents", smacks of sloppy research.
Your post implied that "These sorts of incidents" are a regular and increasing occurrence within the military, which is certainly not the case.

Sweeping generalisations can be harmful.

Ok so my research may of been sloppy, but im sure most of you also have the same thoughts as me ? As a "civillian" I have heard many stories concerning bullying, suicides and other such stories, maybe it is just the media bringing the millitary news to our attention more than most, but I do hear many things, such as this to do with the millitary. (as i say it is more than likely the media bringing them to our attention more than normal)

And to answer Hu Jardons " Which makes me wonder why the two of you want to join"

Im sure I answer for both of us in saying, we do not fear such things as we believe we have strong characters of which can deal with such situations, and to further the answer for myself, I have experienced alot in my life time (as short as it is so far) and believe what I have suffered will be the worst by far.

Try telling that to the lads in Selly Oak. They need a little bit of comedy.
