I know the press take all the stats for crime etc and blow them out of proportion, But it does seem that this country is getting worse.

I was talking to my mum over the weekend and the nice town she lives in over the past 5 years has gone from being a nice -place to live to where banks are being held up at gun point.

These little ba$tards should spend the rest of their days in chain gangs working 12hrs a day everyday except sunday morning when they go to church.

I agree, we should have, "An eye for an eye", justice system in some cases such as these.

And as our wonderful leaders love to privatise and outsource everything, why don't we send our criminals to prisons in Thailand, Russia and Saudi?

It would cost a fraction of the price, and more importantly it would be a very good deterrent.

I would like to see the death sentence return, NOT because I want to see people die but because I would like people to know what's waiting for them if they screw up.

I know everywhere has its problems and crime/humanity stand hand in hand, but here, you can walk around the villages & see doors unlocked/open/Cars/vans with the tools quite visibly on show.

Even in the bigger towns to a certain extent...even Munich.

In fact my better half has left her purse (amongst other things) on the passenger seat of the car overnight outside the house & elsewhere & nada/nothing has been stolen/broken.

Even simple matters, such as DIY in your house. You cannot do (drilling, hammering & such like) between the hrs of 1300-1500hrs and not on the weekend...and the local plods can & do enforce this.

The locals tell me that after the US forces left after 98, the crime rate dropped substantiallyDT_Xtremez_35: (although I believe it wasnt that high anyway...compared to the UK) there was roughly 17, 20,000 troops here in three/four Kaserne Unfortunatley these are being replaced slowly by Russkis, Eastern Europeans (The Turks have been here that long, that they are assimed) and this, with the inevitable "americanised yoof culture" things are slowly becoming worse...but still nowhere near the UK.

Bavaria is a bad example to give, because it is the safest area in Germany, maybe a comparison with the North West/East would be better.

Only just recently there was a documentary on Vox/Sat1 about the British Army in the Westfalen/NiederSachsen area & the crime attributed to these guys, mostly drink related.

The scum should be strung up, but no doubt due to them being from a broken/one parent family, they will get a couple of weeks abroad on holiday. Unless the judge has had a bad day and then they might get an anger management course.

When will a life sentence mean life, it seems to be that now for murder if anyone actually is given a life sentence, it tends to be around the 15 year mark, surely prison life can't be that hard to mean that their life expectancy is only 15 years.

Which they won't have so re-enlist them as sandbags !

Personally I think there is no torment worthy of what they have done except maybe this.
They live out their lives in a cell with a small slit near the 10 foot ceiling, just enough to allow light without them ever allowing them to see the sky again.
A wet floor, enough for discomfort but not enough to drown in.
Strike their names from the records and let them live in abject misery. Ensure no-one knows their names, no-one cares what happens to them and that if they die no-one will notice, they will in fact do society a favour.
Have a door near the top and never even release the bodies. Just allow some slugs and worms in to clean up the bodies occasionally. After a year of people dying in there you will have a prison worthy of scum such as these.

One thing which stands out for me is that one of the lads mother overheard what was being said, and the police made a comment that some close family members helped the police bring these scum bags to justice. At least some of the family had values and the disgust they must have felt towards their own flesh and blood for committing such a crime, one can only wonder. I only hope the family members who helped bring justice for the horrible death of an innocent man do not feel any guilt for helping the police.
