Well looks like there may be a bombing campaign for Syria. With Shader drawing down could it just be shifted to another AOR?

Don't forget the nice big shiny waste of money white elephant aircraft carrier they will want to use somehow.

Firstly - is this all just because Theresa May's arse is on the line and there's nothing like a good war to detract attention from domestic problems.

Secondly - Should we even be getting involved?

Thirdly - Mission creep anyone?

IMHO - no, we should not.

I may be a cynic, but this smacks to me of yet another attempt to remove Assad from power. Forgive me for sounding cynical, but how many people were actually killed in this alleged chemical attack? 50? Between 3,200 and 5,000 people were killed and 7,000 to 10,000 more were injured when Saddam gassed Halabja; I dont recall Western leaders rushing to bomb his chemical sites at the time.

I would ask Teresa May and the Idiot In Chief this simple question - given that your predecessors policy of bombing has achieved the square root of diddely-squat over the last few years, are you really willing to risk a global confrontation with the Russians just to effect regime change in a country that up until 2011 you probably didn't care a cr*p about?

In fact, THIS sums it up better than I ever could....

Is it me or being civil to Dictators and their allies when you want to bomb their country is now the rage. Trumper the Bloater warning Russians last time of the bombing of the airfield from the last excursion. Now this time even more effort according to media press. Could we not use the Parachute regiment to drop in and help in moving the next tranche of refugees to the Syrian port and picked up on the Bulwark to Italy. Saves lives and money.:pDT_Xtremez_17:

If I were Putin (which I'm not, honest guv), and I had promised to carry out a strike on UK assets in retaliation for Russian forces deaths (which they'll claim whether some die or not), then that big ol' white elephant would be a VERY tempting target. Either that, or Aki runway.

And lets not forget about her doing this without any sort of Parliamentary oversight.

She bangs on about democracy.... but only when it suits her needs it seems.

If you believe Tory MP Chris Philp, apparently Parliamentary oversight isn't required - we declared war on Germany in 1939 without any Parliamentary say...

Well, that's all right then - we went into one conflict that cost 50 million lives without parliamentary approval, so it's Ok to go into another...

Should U.K. get involved with Syria?

I hope the decision goes to Parliament like it did in 2013, with the same outcome.

May needs to get her own house in order before potentially starting WW3.

The evidence for this 'alleged' chemical weapons attack is tenuous to say the least. Both sides have chemical weapons including the jihadi's and as I understand it Isis have used these weapons on more than a few occasions. Assad's forces were already occupying 90% of the city and poised to win the rest; why then used chemical weapons? When this type of attack happens I always think 'who benefits from this?'. Assad? Nope, condemnation and attack by the West. The jihadi's? definitely, they get Assad's forces hit with missile strikes and they suddenly look like the good guys.

That aside, this is all bollocks. Our PM will leap on this faster than a porno film star leaping onto a flaccid cock just to try to show how 'strong' she is a s a leader. She probably thinks that this will be her 'Falklands' moment. As to her 'War' cabinet; I cannot think of a bigger joke shop group of useless cretins to ever gather round a table.

IMHO leave the Middle east to destroy itself. Set up protected enclaves where refugees can stay and leave it at that. I know our Top Brass will leap at the chance of using their shiny kit in an effort to get more money from the MoD, they always do but then again they're rarely at the ****ty end of the stick are they?

The days of the UK being a world power ended in the last century and now only exists in the brandy addled brains of aging Colonel Blimp clones. The UN will debate, within parliament shock will be registered, dismay will be expressed, condemnation will be invoked, Putin's puppet will ask the questions he's been told to ask and the PM will give the answers the US and the other allies have told her to give. There is neither the public will or the military capacity for the UK to do much about the complete toilet mess that is the Syria situation. For me we should stand well back and at most carry out a distant watching brief.

If, during PMQ's, the idiot May stands up and utters the words 'it's the right thing to do' I am going to vote for Labour in the next General Election. I hate Labour and everything they stand for but the Tory party are really ****ing me off these days.
