This is the link to the ull Ascroft report detailing the measures required to re-absorb service leavers into the working community

http://www.veteranstransition.co.uk/vtrreport.pdf

Note some examples of the main outcomes and some surprising findings...just for a flavour

  • Early service leavers face the most problems
  • Not everyone has PTSD (we are guilty of perpetruating that myth IMHO)

  • All personnel should complete an online PersonalDevelopment Plan, beginning at the end of basic training.
  • A new work placement scheme should be created in partnership with industry (ally- fuggin- looya)

  • Establish a central tri-Service transition and employer engagement staff

  • Consider paying Service personnel their full salary and requiring accommodation charges to be paid by Direct Debit
  • Create a Veteran’s Card to be given to all Service Leavers on departure,

Well worth a read
