Some tasty opinions forming on that article underneath it...and as an aside what a rock and roll place Bedford would seem to be judging by the other articles listed!

Having been involved in the periphery of a particularly distressing case, I think this case exposes a fundamental weakness in the vetting system. He probably hadn't ever been caught before this, and hence his record would be squeaky clean. What are interviewers to do? Ask him "When did you stop being a pervert?" Or maybe tie a bell on his todger and show him images; 'Ting-ting-ting'. "Hello, is that the police?" I wish I knew the answer.

In the vetting interview - he gets asked - Are you a nonce?

If they say no and later get found to be one - they get fired and thrown them to the wolves...

Well he is not technically one of ours but still too close for comfort.

Don't know how it will effect his job, as the last one that was detailed on here is still being paid a handsome wage as of last week so take from that what you will:

"The headline is incorrect - this oxygen thief is NOT in the RAF.
He is in the Military Provost Guard Service. He is Army, an a disgrace at that.

Not really cleared

Not really cleared

Any clearance system can only look at what's on record or what you're willing to admit to, it cannot second guess what you may do.

Anyway the highest check for him would probably be a BC equivalent which probably just checks to make sure you're who you say you are and that you're not on any easily and cheaply checkable databases.
