There is talk on a couple of aviation forums of an ejection on the ground with a "pilot" taken to hospital

Piccy on BBC shows the jet with just the front part of the canopy gone. Jet looks OK otherwise.

Fingers crossed for some good news.......

It made me wonder about those Hawks; I realise they are special, and well-looked after, but. . . . . .

Do we know what actually happened to Red 4 at Bournemouth yet?. A pal of mine who lives not far from there was telling me of local rumours and "observations".

"mods" forgive me for stepping out of line but ex bay is this really necessary right now ? bad timing !

again thought to all those involved

Pilot has been named as ************************************.

Looks like the Daily Mail may be speculating over the name as the chap I know, who knows who it was who was killed, says it's a different name, which means the meeja are treading on thin ice & spreading rumours.

A sad day for the reds and those associated with them.

Scampton CO Group Captain Simon Blake this evening said about the Military Aviation Authority inquiry.

"It would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of the incident until that inquiry is complete. The investigation will determine the facts."

Words worth following I reckon

But a very "twisted airway" for a rumour network?

I know, its sad and odd for a ground based incident, but God knows it is not a standard thing.

Please forgive me for being rather short sighted, but as I don't work on A/C directly i'm a bit confused. If the ejector seat has launched, why wouldn't the parachute deploy? Is it because he would have been too low and it wouldn't have time to fully deploy?

Absolutely disgusted with the mail.

We have to remember that newspaper are one of the most consistantly fair entities on the planet...They do not discriminate between heroes, villains, children, pop stars, TV celebrities, clergy, Cristians, Muslim, Blacks or whites...They treat all of us with the same profit orientated, emotionless, cut throat and morally bankrupt level of disdain...So I would use 'unsurprised' and let it wash over me as they will never fail to get your dander up and life is too short...Best way to hurt then is to never buy them.
