As Radio 1 prepares to go through its mid life crisis what are your memories?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7005377.stm

Do you remember trying to get a decent signal "between 275 and 285 metres on the medium wave"?
Trying to tape the Top 40 without catching the DJs cutting in?
Simon Bates Our Tune?

We used to down tools in the bay at Chivenor to listen to Our Tune!
Well it was the Fairy Bay!

Don't listen to it much nowadays, music is OK but DJs are far too chavvy - "innit", "know what I mean" - and don't talk proper!
Steve Wright on R2 is just like turning the clock back 20 years - class.

I usually listen to Chris on the way to 6th form in the morning, sometimes a good laugh, albeit crap music.
