Photo editing software

Can anybody recommend a good free photo editing programme for the PC? Like photoshop but not as expensive, just want to remove some red eye and the like....

I downloaded this for my netbook (less RAM intensive etc.) and use it too for simple image adjustments (except for butt plug removal(s))!

From a digital camera or phone. If from a camera try the disk that came with usually some basic stuff on there.

I'll second that and it's GNU Image Manipulation Program ;-) It's an awesome program that has gone from some very humble beginnings to a near photoshop replacement.

Got to agree - I have tried GIMP, but Paint.net is more user friendly (to me anyway!).
