At a time where less people are asked to do more can it really be justified that the sport billy's get to jog off on what is effectively a jolly while everyone else covers the work?
And before the inevitable incoming i represented the RAF in sport for year's but never let it get in the way of my PRIMARY job or looked for funding.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with that comment, there are so many people out there (not all of them, obviously) who are rubbish at their primary role, but seem to get ahead in their careers of the back of continuous sports-related accomplishments, which tend to be at the cost of their colleagues workloads and the purses! As usual it's the few who spoil if for the many.

Apparently they were successful. Message from Central Fund earlier (shocking spelling!):
SPORTS LOTTERY NEWS
It is with total joy that the Central Fund can announce that we have a Sports Lottery and enough tickets were in play by Friday for the first draw to be confirmed!
This is a huge milestone however, now that the draw is legal, momentum cannot drop as we need to develop the game to reach the level where it's generating the income needed to satisfy the demand for funding.
Funding has not stopped however the Central Fund cannot maintain the shortfall. Therfore the push for sign up continues and your support with this is hugely apprecaited!
For today though.... its a huge milestone and largely down to all of your support. Thank you.
