It is with great sadness that I inform you all that Neil Smith passed away on the morning of Fri 27th November as a result of a car accident.
Details are in the following news clip http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/Black-ice-causes-death-county-road/article-1556175-detail/article.html.
Neil spent the end of his RAF career working variously between Boscombe Down and Farnborough. After leaving, he worked for General Dynamics UK in Wales. He started with SELEX Galileo just this summer.
Neil was a top bloke, more than proficient in his trade and never afraid to speak his mind but always for the sake of the greater-good. More often than not he would have a smile on his face and was usually the source of laughter for those around him.
When something like this happens, the words "we must catch up soon" at the end of an email or text now seem like wasted opportunities.
Really shocking news and thoughts are with his wife and children at this difficult time.
RIP Smiff.
