I don't know how difficult or how much of a balls ache it would be but, is there scope for a low res version of the goat to aid the Iphone, I touch and PDA users of the world?

There is an option in your user preferences to turn off signatures/avatars/pictures. Could you not use these options to convert the site into a 'lite' version yourself?
Alternatively, is there a selection in your browser setting to not display images?

Opera has a 'Small Screen' feature View > Small Screen which might meet your requirements.

Thats why I was always skint as a youngster........still, I'm glad I partied and as playing with a mobile phone still bores me ****less.
