4everAD - you've actually raised a very good point here. The FAA Squadrons are augmented with the type of personnel you have listed, in order to augment the ships company so that they can cope with the influx of extra personnel that a Squadron brings when they embark.
Chefs, stewards, writers (clerks), stores bashers and a regulator (RAFP), are the norm - so the net is cast far and wide. Some of these people work away from the Squadron when back at base, in the Wardroom/cookhouse etc, so are gainfully employed at all times.
There has also been talk of the REME being posted to the ship permanently to assist the ships engineers, as the branch is currently in a critical state and there is no way they could man both carriers.
So all in all - possibly a very tri- service venture awaits many people.
Could be an opportunity for some trades to bump up their numbers.
