Hi guys

Sorry to jump into your parade (as it were), but I have been trawling the internet looking for any info on signals units, and found this site. My dad was Jim (Taff) Morgan - he was an operator in 6, 9, 12 and 26 SU, I believe and also a trainer and posted to the following places :

Aden 60's
Cyprus - Akrotiri (I think) and Episkopi 60's/70's
Malta 70's
Innsworth, Glos 70's
Cosford 70's
Gatow, Berlin 70's
Rudloe Manor, Wiltshire 80's until his retirement

What I was hoping for - although you all seem too young (!) was to find anyone who may have known him, who could tell me a few things about what it was like working with him - no holds barred - I have no idea whether he was a b*&@%!! to work with or a great bloke. He WAS a great dad, but hey! (I should mention that he passed away in 1998 and after years of NOT listening to his stories, wish he was still here to tell me more!!)

So, I hope you don't mind the intrusion - the only experience of service life I have is as a kid (and I feel as though I have been SO lucky). I was born in Cyprus and finished RAF life in Chippenham, Wiltshire at the age of 16 - now living in Australia.

Thanks for your time - hope to hear from you!

Trying to escape from Corsham, but according to the drafters, I'm already co-located (48.3 miles) with hubby at Brize. They have not reason to move me, boo hoo . I would have thought that 3 x 14 hour night shifts coupled with an hour plus drive each way was a good enough reason, then the same for the 3 days.
