from the Beeb:
1104: The US military now says that the second crew member from the crashed jet in Libya has been rescued, Reuters reports.
We give thanks to our Maker that our brave US colleagues got out and were given refuge by the 'friendlies'.
Here's hoping they were not badly injured in the ejection and can be safely returned to their families before returning to duty once more.

"US Fighter jet crash lands......"
Both crew ejected, so a "crash landing" is stretching it a bit !!
Would it be fair to say that it looks better if its tech failure, that way the F-15 keeps its record of never being shot down ?
Thanks to McDonnell Douglas/Goodrich more like.
Or even Martin Baker?!
Or even Martin Baker?!
The F-15 not equipped with MB seats (it uses Mcdonell Douglas ACES II Ejection Seats if memory serves)
I assumed the locals handed the pilots back for free because they were sick and tired of the yap about "me me me what a sky God I am"
And getting shot at by some SAR Blackhawk door gunner muppet, thinking it is Mogadishu.
Loving all the obnoxious replies here assuming that they let some retard open fire on civilians.
Sanity check please? Yes I love taking the **** out of the yanks as much as anyone, but can you imagine landing at a crash zone with a load of sandy people cheering and waving guns around in celebration?
Marine officials said the Harriers dropped two bombs during the mission.
Specific details were not available, but officials said it is standard procedure to drop ordnance between downed personnel and need and advancing people on the ground if their intentions are not clear to warn them away.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was harmed by the bombs.
