We give thanks to our Maker that our brave US colleagues got out and were given refuge by the 'friendlies'.

Here's hoping they were not badly injured in the ejection and can be safely returned to their families before returning to duty once more.

Would it be fair to say that it looks better if its tech failure, that way the F-15 keeps its record of never being shot down ?

Not True, 2 F-15E's were shot down over Iraq in 91, one crew was killed, the other captured. No F-15A or C's lost in Air Combat or to hostile ground fire, However there have been a couple of Blue on Blues in that one F-15J (Jap) was shot down, and one USAF F-15C was damaged by Sidewinders fired by another F-15 from their own air force!!!! (like the Toom v Jag incident in 82).

And getting shot at by some SAR Blackhawk door gunner muppet, thinking it is Mogadishu.

According to some sources it was a USMC V-22, and the door gunner was more likely a Marine doing Vietnam. Get Some!!!

There is video of a couple of the guy's who got hit on the TV, who were not suprisingly a bit p!ssed off, but they didn't want the air campain to stop.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Friday when the Mosques kick out in Tripoli.

Loving all the obnoxious replies here assuming that they let some retard open fire on civilians.

Sanity check please? Yes I love taking the **** out of the yanks as much as anyone, but can you imagine landing at a crash zone with a load of sandy people cheering and waving guns around in celebration?

Not just guns but a couple of bombs from the Harriers just to get the point across

Marine officials said the Harriers dropped two bombs during the mission.

Specific details were not available, but officials said it is standard procedure to drop ordnance between downed personnel and need and advancing people on the ground if their intentions are not clear to warn them away.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was harmed by the bombs.
