Is "playing cards with my mates" the weakest excuse ever offered for why a group of men may be parked in a layby beside some farmland?

I suspect that they may have been using the phrase "I have a good hand here" but were unlikely to be referring to Bridge.

Good to see that in these times of austerity the courts aren't spunking money up the wall with frivolous cases. This couple are clearly a menace to society and need locking up at even more expense to the tax payer than this case has already cost. It's only a matter of time before one of them is caught with a whoopee cushion or a comedy arrow through the head. Imagine the emotional scarring that could leave on a group of grown men "playing cards" with each other?
