Becoming a sniper in the RAF

I was watching rocks in a hard place and one of the episode talk about the RAF snipers.I was wondering how would you become an RAF sniper.Would simply ask to become one when your applying to be a gunner.

No, you join and complete basic training like everyone else. Then, if you are a good enough shot, you can apply for a place on a basic sniper cadre (which is NOT an attendance course).
