It's pants compared to a jammer (for those old enough to remember), even a wendy is better than the vap crap!::p:
Oh boy now you really are talking plumber porn.

The old Jammer could turn a head I'll tell you! the way it swung it's little ass about put the meganne to shame and they were tough as old boots. A landrover hit the front wheel of one I was driving in Akrotiri late one night and bounced over my head and rolled twice writing itself off and badly hurting the driver and 2 passengers. I drove the jammer to the line hut to get help and on inspection the only damages was a cracked wheel bearing. After that accident they were coincidentally fitted with proper headlights and a beacon though I don't know if the crash was the reason.

Jammers rule

Jammers rule

when I was a lowley LAC on 74 Sqn many years ago my mentor a certain SAC moxy (M****) said jump on the jammer will give you a lift to the next HAS where we were both doing line armourer stuff on the jets, he said look you can open the legs as were moving as I watched in amazment as we zipped down the road to the next HAS, thats when it went all wrong we seem to lose control I held on for my life as we shoot across the road an in to a small ditch, we came to a stop and realised we were ok but the jammer was stuck, not a problem moxy said, no one will ever now we can tow it out with a landrover, but as if by magic a car came on to the site with little stars on the front with purple faces pressed to the windows then within 5 mins our world turned to **** never had so many bollocking in one day but as the LAC I was not to blame, poor moxy got the lot from Growler our evil WO and even more so when growler found out moxy didnt have a jammer on his 600
but the jammer is still the best weapons platform ever made
Ps still want to do harm to the man who iinvented the Y loader

Hey! I seem to remember a very similar incident when I was on APC once. The exact same thing happened at Coningsby in the mid/late 70s on the OCU.

Mine was in 74 when the Turks invaded and we were sent to scare them away from the South of the Island. the rover was 56 sqdn lineys. I left con oct 75 for Laarbruch so didn't hear about that crash. I do know when a Land rover passes about 3 inches over your unprotected head at about 50mph you'll never forget the experience:pDT_Xtremez_17:

Nothing wrong with the VAP 60, it can take the weight of a full 2250 tank without tipping over like Fred Flintsones car, unlike the wendy.....errr....em....so I've been told. Having said that it would struggle to get a SUU pod on a Tomb without bumping into something expensive, unlike the good old jammer.

Proper Bang sticks

Proper Bang sticks

Wasn't a plumber whilst in the mob, but did the army course while in the TA...ended up looking after a BIG pile of these....proper bang sticks that do the job without reverting to junk after 150 rounds and enough working parts to work, rather than come back with bits missing.......

Having serviced many an SLR admit it was good, but being under/around aircraft a weapon with that range was a waste of time, we could have shot someone in St Andrews from the dump/ Site at Leuchars lol
