Anyone else heard the rumours we are to have a pay freeze and be forced to contribute towards our 'gold-plated' pensions?
I'm not worried about the pension rumour. New recruits.... maybe.
A pay freeze wouldn't be so bad, compared with the rumours of slashes across the public sector. Would they dare slash our pay??
I thought you contributed a certain amount to the pension, it might not appear on your payslip as such.
As an aside here in the nhs your final salary pension is taken on your last 2 years, so you seeist people trying to do as many weekends and unsocial hours as possible in the last 2 years. Maybe this is summat the government will look at and get the final pension based on our basic salary.

With APFS 05 it is.
AF Pensions are non-contributary. How do you contribute if it's not on your pay statement?
it used to be 7% removed at source. Then if you look at the pay review board a few years ago it was reduced by 3% to 4%. This dropped our true payrise from 3.5% to 0.5%.
it is still not a bad pension though.
Pensions for the armed forces will be looked at, IIRC it's a requirement of the SDSR, what happen who knows, but they are being looked at.
Osborne said on the Andrew Marr show at the weekend that accrued benefits can't be touched.
