  • Are you wanting to stay in aviation when you leave? I worked for Flybe in Exeter for a couple of years when I left the RAF, and could give you a few email address if needed.
The man who put the 'sod' in Chipping Sodbury, eh? In that case, we must have a pint sometime! I take it you've read my profile, yours is interesting. What are you going to do next, emulate Dick Strawbridge in North Wales? When I lived in Oxford, I knew someone with a similar profile to yours who'd become a technical rep for an aerospace company, driving hither and yon. In his mid fifties, he was always grumbling that it was "a young man's job" and was trying to become a parson instead. Nimrod - the father of a friend of mine, a former fighter navigator whose last flying job was to command a Shackleton MR squadron at Kinloss, got an OBE for his work on the Nimrod MR (not AEW) project at the MOD in the 70s before leaving the Service at 45 to become a probation officer. A small world we live in.
    Hi guappo.

I'm hoping to stay in Aviation but I also want to work closer to home in the vicinity of Chester. I may have a try a Airbus Broughton as it's a stones throw away.

    All the best, STL
