Baz lived in the room next to me in Al Udeid in 2004-2005, and was a top lad. He sorted me out when I had my car crash too.

RIP mate

I knew Baz when we were on TCW togehter in the 90s. A really sound bloke, and a truly larger than life character.

It's been a really sad few days for us all over here. It's sickening to think that on hearing that rocket thump, someone's life ended. It's really gutting to hear that a fellow Brit dies in theatre, but when it's one of your own, it really breaks your heart.

RIP Big Fella.

OMG, Baz Mate, I have just found out. If ever there was a Mr RAF, Baz was it through and through. Had the pleasure of spending years knowing, working and socialising with Baz and his great family at Brize, I don't know what else to say. Sleep well buddy.

My thoughts are with Sharon, Leanna, Rebecca and family.

Rest In Peace Sergeant Barwood. My thoughts are with your family and friends at this difficult time.

"Never since English ships went out
To singe the beard of Spain,
Or English sea-dogs hunted death
Along the Spanish Main,
Never since Drake and Raleigh won
Our freedom of the seas,
Have sons of Britain dared and done
More valiantly than these.

Whether at midnight or at noon,
Through mist or open sky,
Eagles of freedom, all our hearts
Are up with you on high;
While Britain's mighty ghosts look down
From realms beyond the sun
And whisper, as their record pales,
Their breathless, deep, Well Done!"

My first post on these forums. Sad news indeed of this highly respected SNCO. Thoughts with his family and all who had the pleasure to work alongside him

RIP Baz

I only met you a couple of months ago when I got to Bas but you always had a smile and joke for everyone.

Heart felt condolences to the family.

Gentle Jesus up above
Please send Baz all our love.
