The 21 Bum Salute
A term used by 33 Sqn ground engineers to refer to the see off of Sqn A/C at the end of any detachment.
Rumoured to date back to the Crete incident during WW2 when the aircraft and pilots relocated leaving the ground crew to rally with local and allied troops to beat back the german invasion.
Groundcrew line up on edge of the pan or prominent position, trousers are dropped and @rse cheeks displayed as the Sqn a/c fly home once again leaving the ground crew to clean up.
