    Lockdown is here

Benefit is i have more time to tinker uninterrupted in my man cave; until my Missus realised i’d have the time to do those jobs “i was getting round to doing”. Fortunately, most of those involve going out to builders merchants, which are now sadly shut! Stay safe mate!

    Hasta La Vista

Well, after 37 years and 82 days spanning 5 decades of service, tomorrow is my final day in the RAF, having achieved all my aspirations and leaving at the pinnacle of my trade. I've got some great memories to take with me into retirement (and some I'd rather forget). If I were to ask myself...

    Free Laptops

PC World are currently offering a free Laptop (or £300 off one of your choice) if you sign up in-store for Orange Broadband (base) for a 24 month period. This works out at broadband for two years at a cost of about forty quid if you are on the look-out for a new laptop. Seems too good to be...

    Hi-vis vests on the ASP

Sorry to hear you lost two friends, was this at Coningsby by any chance as I seem to remember a couple of lads from the OCU killed/injured, this was after the pans & perry tracks had been toned down, so even less contrast. There was a local order to attach hi-vis strips to cold/wet gear and...

    Stupid Snag Awards

Many moons ago had one from a Wessex pilot who insisted that the main rotor blades were intermittently flying out of track. Tried to explain that what he was seeing was the disc moving, either from his input or from ASE but he was having none of it. Got my own back by getting him out of the...

    Airman Selection Tests

It's not all doom and gloom, I've seen your final choice and both trades are challenging but in differing ways. During your AMM training you will cover all aircraft trades anyway and even after completing technician training, be able to assist the heavies. If you find that your chosen trade is...

Quote "Iraq 4 years on is bad news and it seems that everyone likes to hide the news that folks are dieing out there" Trust me the news is suppressed far more close to home than that!!
