Anyone had a letter from mobilisation?

M leaving paperwork has me t printed in black and white that my reserve liability ended at age 55.

Direct Entrant FS and WO? Would it work?

It’s no different to the Commissioned you get nowadays.

    P8 eyy?

Bit too cold over there! Good luck to them, though. This RAF is bereft of keen aviators. Those that milked Canada, the US, OZ and NZ have almost all PCR’d. The ROS was in fact a poorly written document, that died at first legal contact. The FRI to acoustic operators covers guys in resettlement...

Sep 2023 CPI Rate on the horizon

Say you earn 55k, you put 5001£ in your SIPP (a personal pension of sorts) then you go right back to being a lower rate tax payer. The downside is you can’t touch it til age 55. At 55 you can take 25% out tax free, or leave it. ( basics, as there are other options). It’s not for everyone, but it...

Sep 2023 CPI Rate on the horizon

Mutty, if you can afford to, bang your excess in a SIPP. It’s a fine government endorsed method of ‘reducing’ your income when you want to. It’s worth a read into, and every financial player out there has a piece on it.

AFPS05 EDPs as “relevant UK earnings” for the purposes of tax relief?

It is not a grey area, it is well trodden. Downsizer is bang on the money; whilst it is not a ‘pension’ it is a pension when it comes to income; it is an income, but no NI is paid on it. I am 100% in the same arena as you on this. I have a job, post RAF, and 100% of that salary can go into my...

    When You Hit 55

21.7% was my jump. Left April21. This includes 2 CPIs and the jump up to 75% of my real pension which will be age 65 and part age 67.

    When You Hit 55

Got a pay slip from equinity with one day to go. Showed present payment and new payment. That’s for a partial new month payment. Pension is paid on 21st, birthday was 25th, so it will jump again next month.

    When You Hit 55

Thanks mate. No letter yet, colleague at work turned 55 last month and didn’t get one either. He was commissioned and has always got a statement from equinity each month stating how much his EDP will be for that month. I wasn’t commissioned and have had the odd tax code change when my EDP was...

    When You Hit 55

I’m nearly there and have a question for fellow goaters that have passed this point. I have a job, so my EDP is taxed under the code BR, which I get and my tax allowances are connected to my salary. I’m 55 soon so am interested in finding out what my new EDP is in case I need to present it as an...

    McCloud date 1 October

So, it’s set in stone that the remedy will be in on 1 October, and worst case the last person must be complete by 18 months later. The legislation is going through Parliament right now, but does anyone have sight of the schedule? When that last part gets voted on? Obviously it will then need...

    Early Termination crisis inbound?

Is there a ‘turp’ for this ?

    Early Termination crisis inbound?

So a new chief wants answers so he asks the old guard that don’t need to do very much to see their pensions grow. There needs to be representation at every rank, this is not an easy one to fix; pink bodies are all different. At the end of the day the opportunity is now lost for another turn of...

    Early Termination crisis inbound?

I hear there’s quite a big pow wow at a southern HQ soon with the aim being to get to the heart of poor retention. All great plans fail; I understand it’s FS and above being invited to have an input.

    Pension increase 2024

Thanks, Vauxhall. Is it protected by legislation or could it be tinkered with without law changes?

    Pension increase 2024

I cannot find anything that ‘states’ my 05/15 EDPs rise by CPI each year, do we just piggy-back on the State Pension, or is it enshrined in law somewhere? It’s not that long til the September CPI is announced, so just wandering if the triple lock goes how our EDPs will raise. Even if it is...

    Pension 75

FPS is the best place to research it. As I understand it now we will all be placed back on our legacy schemes come the day. You then get the choice to have a 75+15 mix, or you stay on 75. you will be given a printout for both choices, where you will find out if you owe any money back, or they...

Is the CAS on his way to a big fat pension ?

A total disgrace to WO and non Commissioned, he was an absolute lQ void. If ever there was a reason to pet and stroke WOs, this arse clone was paramount to failure at that rank. Did he/ she ever do the 5 miler?
