Good on the bull. I detest this, "sport", of goading an animal before killing it. Lets hope a few more get impaled along the way.

Feck, that looks painful. Nice payday for the photographer though.

He's had a "Taste" of it now. Serves him right. Pity it didn't go through his head.

I think the Elfin-Safety man should look at the footwear.
I'll bet it bloody hurt though.

An interesting scar to tell the Grandchildren though.

Indeed... "Did I ever tell you about the time I used to taunt dumb animals before killing them?"

He got what he deserved. I have no problem with killing an animal to feed my family and no problem with killing someone who poses a serious threat to me, my family or UK.

But killing something for a laugh is not on.

A matador is NOT a noble profession.

I don't think "it's a laugh". Faced with 2 tons of horned, pi$$ed-off, beefsteak, I think it takes a brave man to stand in front and taunt it.

Whilst there are parts of Spain (I'm told) where Bullfights are not so popular, it is still a part of a national heritage and we should not criticise too loudly.

I think it's a bit like the Roman gladiators; daring for the amusement of the crowd.

If you haven't done so then watch a 'bullfight' from start to finish, you might change your opinion.

Shall we bring back witch burning and the ducking stool then? Weren't they a great British tradition once?

I spent a fair bit of time in Spain in my younger days and studied the language and culture enough that I felt comfortable with living in areas where many spoke little English...One thing I never go on with was the bullfighting...I would like to see the Matador 'winged' as much as the bull prior to the business end of the scrap to see how well he fights whilst losing blood and being in pain...You have to be delusional to think its 'honorable' and Spain in other areas of animal welfare are somewhat behind the drag curve...For those who are unaware of their track record read the link below about 'Blood Fiesta's':

http://www.faace.co.uk/faqs2.htm

The place to get a really good steak in Jerez was the bull ring...There was a number of butchers who had their shops under the stands on the outside of the ring...I reckon they just dragged the freshly abused/killed animal straight into the back room and began carving...
