Ok so now that the election has been called, we where talking in work about who to vote for and the BNP where raised. At which point someone said we arn't allowed to vote for them as we are a member of the armed forces.

Is it true that we can't? How would they know if we did? Arn't our votes secret? I guess we can't join the party as per the policemen who lost their jobs when the list was leaked onto the internet.

No, that isn't true. You can vote for whoever you want. You can even join them if you so wish. The only thing you can't do is be politically active, e.g. canvassing, standing on street corners distributing leaflets, etc.

"Vote LibDem - get Gordon back again"

Now repeat after me until you've grasped the concept:

"Vote LibDem - get Gordon back again"

Pre Election Manifesto’s/Propaganda/Lies
Anyone delivering the above to this address please deposit it in the big blue recycling letterbox with wheels on at the side of my house (it will save my time in putting it there). This especially concerns the Labour & Conservatives, and applies doubly to the Lib Dems (ah bless).
Thank you, Your cooperation in this matter is most appreciated

I've just watched Mandelson on TV, telling me that the last 8 or so years have been a self deluding dream. He told me how good Liabour are and how well they can run the country.

I think they actually believe it.

The condescending c0ck put me right off my bacon butty.

Ironic, isn't it - your typical MP has about as much face time with the public as I have interviewing popstars, yet as soon as there is an Election they come out in droves telling you how good its been under them, or how they can do much more for the country blah blah blah

I think this is going to be a great election because for the first time political parties are dealing with people who are more aware of whats going on, and trust MP's even less than before.

I am also hoping that Mandelson suffers the same humiliation as Portillo did in '97....then he can go back to licking man-lollies in Hartlepool...

Unfortunately and unlike Portillo the mincing git doesn't have to face his public and suffer the ritual humiliation of standing on a stage and being told he's a tawt.

Unellected, unwanted, the git will just weasel off back into Europe or slide into cash like his chum Bliar.

He is one of the Tories biggest assets

...thats what makes my blood boil - the guy is obviously corrupt (he was involved in at least two scandals that I can think of), yet he stands to benefit regardless of the outcome of this election...

...if only someone could start a campaign to get the ballot paper to show "none of the above" - they would be guaranteed a higer turnout and would get to understand the feeling of abject frustration people have with their elected leaders....

...or am I wrong?

All politicians are corrupt. They have been for a very very long time - just look at how the Americans passed off the Widowmaker to Europe for example.
