JFH have started their handover to 12 Sqn.

Job well done gents (and dorises).

Most of us are back now, with the rear party just waiting for seats to become vacant on the unreliable tristars. There are some wierd and wonderful ways going on to extract personnel as quickly as possible!

Myself & 14 others got back last night after a 30 hour trip involving an Australian C130, a minibus ride across the UAE, 2 x Qatar airways flights and a coach back to Cottesmore.

yeah great job for the harrier groundies , like all can provide the magic with so little support.

Only problem now is according to goverment , scrappage :/

I hate the UK and its policy of saving money , it sux

In a few years you will have hundreds of good techies that been on harrier going to the RAF and there **** policy of treating techies like **** , they will go shove it up ya !!!

Harriers have done a magic job in the gan , the groundcrew only made that happen , the aircrew will take credit . Another pish reason why us groundies are gettin a huge bumb deal , and it has to change in order for the RAF to survive

Despite the politics, despite the lack of kit and despite the bad conditions, the Plastic Harrier has finally proved itself. (After only 20 years plus of service).

A litle sarcasm above ^.

Well done to all. Proud of you!!!

Concentrating on training for the variety of roles it can carry out and preparing to move into a station that doesn't have enough space.

If you are thinking of volunteering for a posting to Harriers, I would think again. There's already way too many people for too few posts.

where would that be? All (relevant) info will be appreciated

Fella, stop being so damn lazy. A quick google on "closure of raf cottesmore" will give you more information than you can shake a stick at.

And please dont come back and ask what a google is.......

does google provide a crystal ball to find the words "closure of raf cottesmore" i honestly didnt know it was closing. but i took your advice after you kindly provided me with some"help"

From the above comment i just wanted a little more info. it just shows that no matter how much news you watch (Prime news NZ and Sky UK news at 04.30 GMT daily) and what material im reading (new zealand herald and as of beginning of jan - The week magazine from the UK)plus various websites, you cant know everything ! Mind you i see that the cuts were announced in december which is probably why i didnt catch em as i wasnt hawking the media as much as i am now.

I know now though - thank you .................i think.

what i was originally after was some info on what operations the harriers are doing post-afghan if any as ive "googled" it and havent been successful.......so far
