Oh they've tried already, can't remember who it was, may have been the CRE, but someone has tried to stop him cancelling the pride thing.

If he sticks to his guns and makes the changes he wants to, good luck to him. All he is doing is carrying out what a lot of us believe. I'll keep an eye on this bloke in future!

At last - a ballsy politician who listens to common sense....just hope that he's for real and isn't going to backtrack sooner or later.....

He'll get my vote!

He'll get my vote!

Upon reading the article that triggered this forum, I couldn't help but find myself nodding in agreement with just about everything this guy said.

After the initial shock wore off (me agreeing with a politician) and re-reading it to make sure I was still alive and not burning in he**, I want to see this guy go far...all the way to #10.

If he carries out all his "amendments" the tax payers will be naming streets for years after him to celebrate their cut in payments!

Update on the Pride march, is that he hasn't cancelled it, he's just withdrawn all funding for it so now the organisers have had to cancel it !!!

Genius......I love this guy !!

This man is potentially the start of something we would all like to see, less lunatic policies and politicians. But more than that I fervently hope that he is going to be seen by the average Joe in the streets of Doncaster, as someone who will deliver on what they talk about in the pub every night without the vile tactics and policies of the BNP.

We have all sat around in a bar and put the world to rights, some of us even do it here! This bloke seems to have taken on the comon sense dished out in both these hallowed environments and turned it into policy where he can. He is giving the punters what they want without the 'white supremacist views of that boil on the asre of society Nick Griffin's lot.

Hope he is absolutely squeaky clean because the vultures will be circling both from the press and the opposition parties.

What a breath of fresh air- a public servant serving the public!

I heard a radio interview a few weeks back and every single thing he said made sense. He isn't against the Pride march - he just doesn't see why he should be expected to fund it. It can go ahead if they fund it themselves. But that's just one matter that everyone seems to be picking up on but there's many more.

Interpreters - not to be funded anymore - like he said - there are many families, some of them 3rd generation immigrants who still do not speak English.

Cut his own pay. Wants to reduce the number of councillors. Got rid of his chauffeur (and car too if I remember rightly).

Top Bloke.

Watch this space though - there're far too many self-serving individuals in non-jobs that will be feeling threatened by him at the minute and they'll be doing all they can to block him/smear him/discredit him.

Jeremy Clarkson's from Rotherham - not a million miles away - maybe he's a distant relative or something?

I like the man's no-nonsense style and if he upsets the otherwise unemployable, so be it. I wish him well and if he can spare the time to come and sort out this part of Lincolnshire, he gets my vote!!

I hope he's got some decent body-armour - especially stab-proof vest: cos I have a feeling he's going to need it
