Well folks,

I've just finished a 16 hour stint from work and on my return home, I cracked open a lovely bottle of beer.

Nothing wrong with that, but then I read this article from the Sillygraph.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...ticised-for-selling-crate-of-lager-for-5.html

What exactly is wrong with Tesco selling a case of beer for a fiver?

Why are some people out to basturdyse booze? Feckin killjoys.

In the days of credit crunching and belt tightening, at least Tesco are offering a little bit of enjoyment at a reasonable price.

What's wrong with these people?

1. I wish my local Tesco was local.
2. The critics don't seem to realise that the honest chap might actually be a responsible drinker.
3. Please have a swig on my behalf. . . . .

As usual a few numpties ruin it for the majority. However when you can buy a bottle of lager for effectivley 20p against a couple of pounds in a pub I can see why publicans are upset.

You could also say that they are selling water more expensive than beer!:pDT_Xtremez_17:

Exactly the kind of tree-hugging, middle-class, Daily Mail-reading, micro-managing interference from the idiots that supposedly run the country. How long before it will be illegal to drink? How long before you need some sort of "licence" to consume alcohol? What the fcuk is wrong with these people? Can't adult men and women decide whether or not they want to drink?

I despair, really I do!

I cannot stand the people who say "put up the price of beer" as they drink their glass of wine. I can't stand the people who go to the pub for a shandy and then criticise the folk who are having a few beers. I cannot stand the people who want to tax beer more and then go home for a glass of whisky to unwind.

Well, I've come up with a new name for the people and others described above,

WHINGE-DRINKERS

So, in fact what they are trying to say is that bacause it is a bargain price everyone will turn into idiots and consume copious amounts.

Well given that line of thinking, the rich folk up and down this country should be raging alcoholcs bacause surely affordability is relative to income. So for the average Joes a fiver for 18 bottles would equate to a few bottles of bolly for those with a larger expendable income.

You know what Monty? I think you've cracked it!

Everyone gets issued a license to drink. For every drink-related offence, or trip to A&E 'cos you are too far gone to be left alone, you get points.

Too many points, and you lose your license.

Binge drinkers and obnoxious drunks get a ban, normal people who like a drink but don't feck it up for everyone get left alone.

Sounds like win-win to me.

The grubby working classes would never let this happen.

Until us grubby working classes start fights in the street after a heavy night on the Beaujolais, it'll never happen.:pDT_Xtremez_32:

So there you go.

Gordon Brown and his 'New-Labour are directly to blame for this...

If they ran the country in a better fashion I wouldn't have to read the misery, doom and gloom that dominates every paper, cover to cover, in the country (Daily Sport aside...The paper wouldn't know a real news story if it kick it in the b0llocks and long may that continue) thus making me so empty of hope for the future that I feel the need to imbibe enough alcohol to stun a charging elephant just to blank it all out...It's not as if I can do anything about the situation by 'pulling myself together' or 'keeping a stiff upper lip' as the idiots have emptied the piggy bank to bail out some rich, greedy and now foolish bankers who will still be bathing in Bolly tonight as most watch their pensions fold in on themselves...

Also curse ASDA for putting so many really quite good wines out on the 3 for a tenner deal sometimes saving me up to £14 in a single purchase as 1 bottle gets you going, the second hits the spot but the whole of the third involves me sliding off the sofa at 0200 with the telly showing an advert for a new fitness machine after I've ranted at the wife, the telly, the cat and myself only a couple of hours earlier...Then feeling like poo into the PM of Saturday...

Would you have to take lessons?

And what would the test be like?

A 3 pint turn between the bars?

What is the sipping distance if you are at 5 pints per hour ?
a) on a week night
b) on a Sat night
c) On an alldayer

Hazard perception?
Can you spot a growler after 6 pints?

Emergency Stop?
"When I slap the bar I'd like you to vomit safely then when safe to do so return to drinking in a safe manner?

Is this the AFCO test for the modern Armourer?
