put myself down as Eng Tech El although thats not strictly true. joined as an ELM. consider myself to be a JAFAD. 3 AD tours, 1 AF, 1 TC, 2 AD OOAs (currently on my 2nd) and 1 AF OOA. I suppose I'm jack of all trades master of none!

Some old names from an old techie

Some old names from an old techie

Started life as "one of those DE's" on DR10 at Locking in '76, to become a L Fitt GR in '77, L Tech GR (for 1 month), L Tech AF(r), L Tech AF, Eng Tech EL. And I never asked for any changes.... Tours at Lyneham, Belize (4 times), Cranwell, Odiham, Gib, TCW X 2, GRSC,(N.Luff), 12SU Episkopi and finally at 1001 SU Rudloe Manor.

Now out of all this career chasing rubbish in 2001, happily working in a great job (most of the time) as a Mobile Sat Com Eng.

I can't be that old!

I can't be that old!

OK, looking at the courses that have been listed on the thread, I can see me taking off my colostomy bag, pulling up one filled with sand and squeezing hard for the best contest in town....can anybody own up to beating DAD13 (1978)? Best to post soon as I'll forget that I was here in the first place!

MC81 and FTC12 at Locking, hub of the universe. Lived down town on my Mechs course, too short for a quarter. Divorced and lived ashore in a flat above Cameo shop in The Broadway on my Fitters course;scrumpy, swimming and shagging. Oh the memories!

I was L Tech TC DTC44.
TCW 11 12 81SUs and JCUFI. I left back on the last free cash and run. Believe me when you get out, the training you got takes you places and gets you good jobs.

My RAF training along with civilian pre employment course got me a Bachelor's Degree certificate when I moved to the States. Try the phone companies when you get out, I went straight to Vodafone which was more like the military than the RAF ever was!

Have I nothing better to do?

Have I nothing better to do?

Apparently, so I am now reliably informed, I am a:

Information and Communication Technology (systems) Technician.

Wow, that felt good. Identity at last known I can sleep easy tonight.

TG3 Roll Call

Greetings All.

Have recently joined and been perusing the site and making a couple of casual posts. Saw the intro's page and thought I should add my two penneth...

Joined 1985 - 7 weeks at the mighty Swinderbubble (included block leave!)
1985-86 L Tech AD training at the most missed Locking
1986-92 Spadeadam - great place. PMA lost me! Got time promotion as well!
1992-94 The most windy Saxa Vord.
1994-99 Buchan-sur-la-mer.
1999-2002 12SU Episkopi - sunny!
2002-05 Bentley Priory - was very quiet by then, but nice with it...
2005-07 Back to Spadeadam - yippee!
2007-now - the wonderful place that is Digby...

Done some tours down south at Alice and Kent, just one more at Byron to get the hat trick.

Loving TG4 - real good fun!:pDT_Xtremez_42: BTW can anyone tell me how I now tell the difference between a techie and a peanut. They're all wearing the same badges, they've all got the same size wallet... I notice we've all got that glazed look as well...:pDT_Xtremez_35:

Nice to be here. Will keep taking the tablets! :pDT_Xtremez_30:
