Being Italian I thought it would have 7 reverse gears and 1 forward, perhaps even a pop-up white flag for when they want to change sides part way through the race ?

And I thought the F1 regs meant aero packages was being trimmed in 2008. This car has more add ons that ever.....

Hope the Mclaren is fitted with appendage breakers!!:pDT_Xtremez_30:

Very nice, but will it get Kimi another championship this year?

I wonder if Kimi has been working on his public speaking skills during the closed season?

Would be nice to hear more than one tone from him:pDT_Xtremez_42:

I Would like to see Massa take this title but I doubt it, IMO the F2008 looks the same as the F2007 apart from the raised cockpit sides and the nose vent. I thought this was going to be a drastic update.

As you say I thought Aero was getting trimmed this year but this looks like it has ram raided Halfords whilst covered in glue

it is a well know fag company that is not allowed to sponsor anything any more, however putting it as a bar code for a pack of 20 Marlbro (spl) seems to throw people off the scent

What a cool looking machine!

Older F1 cars of even the 1980s era look like Model T Fords comapred to these wind-tunnel wonders of today.

To quote yahoo's F1 news page:
The car features a number of major changes from the 2007 model, all of which have been made in line with this year's banning of electronic driver aids.

The F2008 has a longer wheelbase than last year's car to improve the weight distribution now that traction control will no longer be allowed, and it's electronics are far less advanced too, following the introduction of a standard ECU to all cars this season.

The gearbox - which must now last four races between changes rather than just one last year - plus increased driver head protection and a reduction in the number of hi-tech materials allowed in the car's construction - means that the overall weight of the machine is significantly heavier than it's predecessor.

The aerodynamics too have had a radical overhaul, all aimed at maximising the car's performance without driver aids.

The team though, said that the aero package will be altered before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix to a noticeable extent.

I have a feeling that this will be a good season.
Potentially we'll have at least 3 teams fighting for the lead and possibly 5 if Honda and BMW catch up.

Regardless of what you all think of Kimi, he is a damned fast driver and currently the world champion!::p:

I don't think Honda will catch up that quickly, I am sure by mid season Ross will of done some magic and brought them forward.

Ah, but Honda much like Renault started work very early on this years car. Once they worked out last season they each had crap cars they concentrated on building a good un for this year. Dont be suprised to see Renault back up there. Honda might well be up with the front runners, esp, as you mentioned, with Ross Brawn at the helm.
No traction control and JB's smooth right foot action...............................:pDT_Xtremez_28:

Rubens is smooth to.

as for Renault I am surprised that a team can fall from grace so quickly, it was true Hero's to zero's stuff last year

Renault really did fall behind the drag curve last year. For me their shining star was Heikki. Considering the supposed credentials of his team mate Fisi he outshone him good and proper in his rookie year. I think Lewis will have his hands full this coming season. Heikki is very fast and he is also a nice guy.
Fisi by the way looks as if he is going to Force India (Spyker). What a come down eh? From champion team 2 season ago to that?
