Browsing through YouTube whilst bored at work I found a video of some lads playing spoons and it brought back memories of a few other games that the lads used to play in the bar and other locations when bored rigid.

My favourite game to watch was mast definately 'TRAYS' as played in the Chariot Club at RAF Laarparts when I was on the Big Red 1. The undefeated champion being Meathead M****s. The best one I saw was when Meathead knocked a sprog Pilot Officer about 6 foot off a table. Awesome!!!!!!!!!

oh yes i remember them well the good old, 'friday afternoon we are waiting for early knock off' we're bored games DT_Xtremez_30:

2 LAC's stood up in the wheel bins donning their helmet & body armour, and armed with a broom stick with taped up foam blob on end. then rest of the lads racing these bins at each other from each end of the hanger. blood was always spilt.............haha

Can't beat a good old game of Bottle Walker or The Bungee Run.. DT_Xtremez_30:

Aaaaahhhhhhh, the Bungee Run. Between the cages in the hanger on 15 Sqn. I remember it well. Was it Scouse D or Hilly that suffered on that one??????

When I was on 1 Sqn at the beer calls we used to put the sprogs in the big cable drums that we had outside the bar as tables and then roll them down the hill into the block wall. They loved that one.

Then there was the broom and bike game. Stood up on the cable drum, forehead on the broom end. 10 turns, jump down, onto a station bike (not the WRAF variety) and then twice around the block. First man back wins.

Put 2 of the long mess tables together = runway
Take long runup and dive onto the beer covered table(s).
2 'mates' hold a tie across the table = arrester hook to stop you smashing into the wall, carefully positioned at the end of the tables.
'Mates' don't always arrest you with the tie (that you're supposed to catch with your feet as you go flying down the table).....seen some blood there!...

The Lancaster Bomber.

Set out chairs in the Aircraft layout.

1. Find your mug and put him down as engine #4

2. Get your Pilot, Nav, Engines 1,2,3 and rear gunner

3. Air Traffic Controller

4. Do all the pre-Checks between Pilot and Air Traffic, lots of tailking, Start engines slow, 1 at a time building up to full throttle, loads of noise by now.

5. Chocks away, more noise.

6. ABORT ABORT Engine fire #4 Drenched with beer, works every time.

Remember them feckers aswell. I think the build up to my first trip to the Hebs was worse than the actual events. I was expecting the seventh level of hell but as it happens I got away with only losing one eyebrow, my crime was being over 6ft talll which, by all accounts was to tall for a sprog.

Herbie always ended up loosing his eyebrows every year we went Hebs!

Our soggies favourite game has to be 'what can you pick up with with your arse'. We're still waiting for an 81 bomb to be done but i have seen a beer can 'picked up'!!!!
