I have been looking through all the different stories and postings and I amazed that even now there seems to be more than a little homophobia amongst the membership.
We, well actually it was Alistair and Geoff hoon who convinced me that those widespread homophobic sentiments were history before we legalised Homosexual entry into the Armed Forces.
Cherie tells me that possibly it is because the Egoat is made up of old timers who don't have their fingers on the pulse of the modern efficient soccially aware Air force. She may be right but I hope not. I must confess though the hounding of the three or four members who have "come out" is pretty appalling. I actually felt quite ill at some of the comments being levelled at Wgaf and The Fomz,(I love those nicknames, perhaps I ought to get one) when they both came out. The poor chaps had so much abuse they pretended they weren't gay at all in the end. I am sure you guys that if you write to Cherie she'll be more than happy to fight your case in the Humans Rights courts in Europe.
Well I have to go now, time to go down the Labour club here in Trimdon for a beer and a few photographs for the press
