Do you remeber the Douglas Taskmaster - No cab so the line men got wet - Never went NAAFI running in that beast - Then there was the Leyland HIPPO with the Aberdeen overdrive (neutral downhill with swearing and ranting). Nostalgia is not what it used to be. Mick-a-nick

during my nite shifts in the dac me and few others used to creep upto dac73 and have a go on those little pickin trucks endless fun , until i pranged one into a rack and quickly shoved it back into the charging room.it made the station magazine, there was allsorts of things to razz around in that place poes fours, dinkies and those big up and downy things on dac 71. Went back last week and its like a ghost town getting ready for 22sigs. Thanks for the memory jogger Mick a Nick. Nearly forgot the Taskmaster, and of course the David Brown with loads of bottle trollies on the back.

Best fun has to be.............

Best fun has to be.............

Driven all the usual crappy stuff but by far the most fun was driving a BV206 up and down the track at Byron Heights.

I remember with fondess the little electric iso-cars in the DAC too...great days!

I also used to love driving the Supply Sqn mini on signal runs at Abingdon. But my favourite has to be the 2-litre petrol Sherpas you used to get, wheelspins in second gear & everything...awesome!

Cheers mate memory must be slipping, forgot Wendy, bantam David brown and those fecking awful j twices.

Borrowed the det bus in Deci to take the lads back to the line after the MTD went off on a paddy cos somebody had moved the bus and refused to drive but I didn't think that would count:pDT_Xtremez_31:

The joys of starting the Bantam with that fixed starting handle, used because Bantams on fwd supply work used to eat starter rings and the system could never get enough of them. Also, the Coventry Climax Skyzone 6000lb forklift that had to have the pots primed with alcohol to get it going. Used to get an amazing sheet of flame from the exhaust stack when it was started. But the greatest fun of all was the Minivan, like driving an overgrown go kart, brill.
