The date is the 29th. I'll be the one propping up the bar by the way. The letter went out to Chf Sharks about 2 months ago now so if no one has told you blame the old man locked in his office:pDT_Xtremez_30: .

Has anyone heard anymore about his. I have heard a nasty rumour that it has been binned.

The nasty rumour is correct as far as I'm aware (I'm at said surposed hosting unit), but no one down the bottom of the hill will confirm it. Watch this space is all I can say.

It's taking place at Uxbridge last weekend of July. I'll be frank (as that's my name), I think it's disgusting that the NUMBER 1 event in out trade, the only thing TG17 has to look forward to all year is being put on the backburner likme this. Obviously, OOAs, JPA, manning, blah, blah get in the way, but surely the tourney deserves more than this?!?!?!?

It's only going ahead as some nice kind person at Uxbridge stepped in to the breach at the last mintue so to speak. So let hope that person gets a pat on the back.:pDT_Xtremez_30:

Has any new info been sent out? No-one at Cosford seems to know out about it. Can any one provide me with a contact or a copy of the Admin Instruction?

I've not seen anything in writing from Uxbridge but it was on our intranet. Maybe it's an idea to speak to PSF at Uxbridge they could of forgot to send out info it is kind of a short notice change.

The competition is this Saturday at Uxbridge. The guy organising it stepped into the breach when the original was cancelled du to lack of interest, and basically contacted teams who had originally enered, as well as a couple of his own contacts at other stations. There was not enough time to organise anything on the scale that we would have wanted.

So far there are 5 teams. If any stations want to enter a team, or if just a couple of indiviuals can get down to join with another team, PM me for the full info and contact numbers etc. Limited to Pers Admin, Admin Sec, Navy Wtrs or Army AGC(SPS).

I shall speak to the bloke who was co-ord Cosfords team and see if he wants to push on.

Shiney_Happy do you know if that is the end of the road for Halton 5-Asides or is this just a one off cancellation.

If it is the end I know a Training Establishment in the Midlands which has excellent facilities that may/should be able to host in the future. I for one would be willing to Co-Ord it and try to reinstate it as the No1 trades top football competition.

I don't know if that is the end for Halton to be honest mate, I suspect so. Let's face it - if the guy at Uxb hadn't stepped in it could have been the end of the road altogether as next year would have been an attempt at resurrection.

Cosford would probably be a better location though, as it is more accessible from oop north than Uxb.

Will gauge the feeling on Sat amongst those of us there and get in touch with you next week, if that is OK?

I know its still an age away but was anything said at the last event about the future of the premier trade football event?

I think the sooner we know which way it is headed the sooner it can be rescued if need be.

Someone, somewhere needs to get a grip of the TG17 footy, otherwise we're going to lose it big time. A big thank you to the bloke who rescued it last minute last year. Despite the small turnout (only one team who weren't able to get there by London Transport!), it was a good day and a quality ****-up in the Three Tuns afterwards! However, there's every danger that that could have been the last one, unless it get's a major inject of interest and support. I agree with you MSA, Cosford is the natural venue, with all it's facilities and location. However, this is a message to ALL of us TG17 - we need to get a grip of this or the TG17 Footy will be consigned to history, like so many other perks that used to come with the trade.

Can any fellow Jaffas shed any light as yet to what's happening with this years competition? I find the lack of information slightly perturbing.

I think we can probably forget Halton. Without SecTS I don't think they have enough shineys with the time to organise it. I'll try to remember to e-mail a mate at South Park tomorrow; 2 and a bit months should be plenty of time to organise it if (as I suspect) no-one has done anything so far.

Keeping that in mind TBJ, I have a few contacts left over at Halton so will have a chat with a couple of them and see if anyone is willing to keep the 5-a-side bash of all bashes at it's historical home for 1 more year.

I reckon hitting both camps may get a result somewhere.

Mind you Portsmouth for a night on the pop after a days socialising on the pitch may be the start of a brand new world!

I think Uxbridge are going to try and arrange it again, hopefully with wider publicity/interest this year - unless of course South Park / Cosford step forward and offer their services.

A request has been sent out for referees for the 2007 tournament for 4 Aug at Uxbridge. That is all the info I have at the moment. It is being organised by an individual who works id PSF there. Give them a bell.
