My nephew is going down to Halton for three days for a Specialist interview. His chosen trade is RAF Police. Can anyone give me a heads up as to what he might be expecting with regard to this particular trade?

Is it an interview or is he going down to do the 3 day 'introduction' course thing they do nowadays?

As FOMz said its probably the Introduction course and not trade specific. I dont believe there is an interview as such, but I joined up a fair few years ago now so thats not gospel :)

Wish him luck though.

It will be the 2 day Pre recruit training course. Nothing to do with RAFP as that trade does not require a specialist interview

Basically, its an acquaint visit (barrack blocks, mess facilities etc). They also get issued their boots, take a fitness assesment and get to meet people they will be joining up with.

If your nephew has got this far, he already has a date to join the RAF.

expect?

expect?

a lot of bulling boots, being smarter than anyone else, standing around in the rain sun snow and wind (no vulcan wings to shelter under), bing expected to make more decisions each day than most offices do and to be hung out to dry if he gets it wrong, if he gets to a HQ unit, being snipped at by passed over officers that dont have a 'empire' of their own to lord it over, fantastic mates, trust em with me life...not me wallet though, the chance to see the world,,,and arrest it!
i(ncidently do they till have them nursey officers at halton that make a swishing sound as they walk?)

Yes mate, his provisional date has been given as the start of August.

I will have to give him a few QCS tips on Bulling boots:pDT_Xtremez_14:
